Get talking.
Get building.
A monthly meet-up. Online one month, in person in the West Midlands the next. A short talk from one builder, then a roundtable. No pitching.
First event Wednesday 30 September, 6.30–8pm UK, online. Free.
Get Neural is a meet-up for people who build with AI. Agents, automations, products, tools that do a job.
The subject doesn't change much: where this is going, and what holds up in real work.
It starts in the West Midlands and online, with the aim of growing into a national network.
It isn't a conference, and it isn't a place to sell. It's builders comparing notes.
One person talks for ten or fifteen minutes about something they've built: what worked, what didn't, what they'd do differently. No pitch, no product launch.
Then the room talks. Which new models are actually worth using, which tools have earned a place in a real stack and which turned out to be a good demo and not much else. If you're stuck on something, bring it along.
There's one rule: no pitching. Talk about your work as much as you want, just don't try to sell it.
You build with AI around a real job or a contract. Agents, automations, a tool one industry needs. You've shipped something that works and you've run out of people to talk to about it. Your colleagues think it's clever, but the people who'd really get it are scattered across group chats in other time zones.
There's a second group, and they're why the network is worth growing. People who run businesses and spend their days on admin own the problems your tools solve, and those problems come with real budgets. Most of them don't know you exist. Getting them into the room is the plan. Sometimes the person across the table is the person who hands you work.
One meet-up a month, alternating online and in person. The in-person ones are around Leamington Spa and Birmingham. Each is its own event with its own speaker.
The first one is set. Wednesday 30 September 2026, 6.30 to 8pm UK, online and free. A talk on how I built my software factory, then a roundtable. Register at luma.com/602qmw72.
Registration for the first event is open. Wednesday 30 September, 6.30 to 8pm UK, online, free. Register on Luma and the joining link comes from there.
If you'd rather wait, leave your email and you'll get one message when the next date is set. That's the only thing your address is used for. No newsletter, no follow-up sequence.
No, but you need to be building. A half-finished agent that saves you an hour a week counts. A production system for clients counts. An idea you haven't started doesn't, yet. The discussion assumes you build.
They alternate. One month online, the next in person in the West Midlands. Each has its own speaker. Come to the ones that suit you, or all of them.
No. There's no course, no software with a free tier and no agency waiting at the end. The no-pitching rule applies to me before anyone else. If money ever changes hands, it'll be a stated price for the meet-up itself and nothing else.
The room is built for builders first, and the early ones will lean that way. Business owners and operators are the second phase, on purpose: you own the problems these tools solve. If that's you, come to the first one, or leave your email and you'll get the next date.
The first event, on 30 September, is free. Pricing beyond that hasn't been decided, so it isn't written here. It will be, before you're asked to pay for anything.
I do. I'm James Sefton, a working engineer, not a full-time founder. The proper introduction is below.
I'm an electronic engineer. I test railway signalling systems under an IRSE licence, and I write code around that work to automate the parts nobody wants to do by hand.
I run Kontinuity, where those tools get built. Get Neural is the room I host.
If you build with AI, register and come to the first one.
